Huron Students Participate in the Kent State Honor Choir

Eleven Huron High School choir students spent a day at Kent State University earlier this month, working alongside students from 27 other Northeast Ohio schools at the annual Honor Choir event.
The students worked with four different college professors throughout the day, rehearsing three pieces they performed in a concert that evening. But what made us most proud wasn't just the music—it was the feedback from other schools' directors who took time to comment on how professional and respectful our students were.
"Other directors came up to tell me how impressed they were with our kids," our choir director said. "That means everything. These experiences show students what's possible when they work with other passionate musicians, and they handled it with real maturity."
While the students rehearsed, our director also attended two professional development sessions through Kent State's School of Music, bringing back new techniques for our program here.
