Hispanic Heritage on Display

Spanish teacher Mrs. Arambula and the art department teamed up this year to mark Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 - October 15) with a project that filled our hallways with color.
Upper-level Spanish students researched influential Hispanic figures—people who've made significant contributions in the U.S. and beyond. Each student wrote a reflection and created a display piece, adding handmade paper flowers to brighten up the presentation.
Art classes studied Frida Kahlo, focusing on her bold self-portraits and the way she used art to express strength. Students created their own interpretations of Kahlo's work and added more flowers to the collaborative hallway display.
The result? A vibrant mural that celebrates the creativity and history of Hispanic Heritage Month—and shows what Huron students can do when they work together across subjects.
