Calamity Day Communication: What You Need to Know

As winter weather approaches, here's a reminder about how Huron City Schools communicates delays or closures due to inclement weather or other emergencies.
You'll receive notifications through:
- ParentSquare (text message or email to your registered account)
- District website
- Local radio: K96 (96.1 FM), WLEC (93.5 FM), and WCPZ (102.7 FM)
- FinalForms email sent to all parents, guardians, and families
- Huron City Schools Facebook page

We aim to notify families between 5:00 and 6:00 a.m. when possible, giving you time to make arrangements. Keep in mind that our automated system is also used for other alerts, so listen carefully to each message.
Important reminder: While the Superintendent makes the official decision about delays or closures, parents ultimately decide what's safest for their child. If weather conditions make it unsafe for your child to travel to school or arrive on time, report the absence and include the weather as the reason.
